This case describes a 53-year-old male with a history of atrial fibrillation (AFib) and arterial disease. In the first FibriCheck spot check, the patient was initially in AFib, then transitioned into a short tachycardic episode, after which the rhythm converted to a regular rhythm (temporary resinusalisation).
Approximately 100 seconds later, the patient performed a second spot check. This recording started in regular rhythm, but during the measurement the rhythm switched back to AFib. Together, these two consecutive readings provide a clear illustration of rapid rhythm dynamics around a short-lived return to sinus rhythm.
Takeaway:
Consecutive PPG spot checks help reveal short-term rhythm evolution, allowing transient events such as resinusalisation and early AFib recurrence to be captured and interpreted in context.
